Why am I doing this?

It all started when I found a little book titled “Bad Hair” at Goodwill. I have retained an on/off relationship (or obsession) with this book, and began drawing the various characters as soon as I brought home this bundle of joy. I have always loved drawing hair, and wanted to get better at it. But why spend my time drawing lovely fashionable hair, when I can pay tribute to these ballsy and tacky coifs from back in the good old days?

Who am I?

bethaustin: Portland, OR Illustration student at Pacific NW College of Art. Finishing up my BFA this spring. Likes animals, words, wrinkles, faces, leaves, pico de gallo, and you guessed it… hair.
